Dipshikha School

Dipshikha School is located on the hillside near the village of Rabi Opi, south of Banepa.

Sadly the school was completely destroyed by the 2015 earthquake but thankfully no one was killed. Shiva Charity quickly assembled make shift tents and corrugated galvanised sheets with timber framing for temporary classrooms.

Nearly all of the computers were destroyed and most of the desks chairs and benches.

Shiva Charity started fundraising immediately to rebuild the school using their earth brick making machine given to us by Wrington Vale Rotary club.

In January 2019 the Lockerz band from Weston Super Mare raised sufficient funding to build two earthquake proof buildings comprising of four classrooms.

In March 2020 a wonderful donation was given to Shiva Charity by the RAOB, and with this generous gift we were  able to complete the project with two more buildings comprising of 5 classrooms.

In June 2021 the Rotary Club of Wrington Vale donated the funds which completed a 4 cubicle toilet block with septic tank and hand washing facilities

In July 2021 Tony Hobden and Adam Lythgoe walked the length  Hadrian’s wall to raise funds to install a water filter and a 1000 litre storage tank providing clean drinking water for 120 students.
