Adarsha Dhungana

Adarsha lives with his parents and an older brother who has already graduated from Dipshikha School and now attends the government funded Ginnette Harrison School. The family’s low-income was made much worse when Adarsha’s mother developed a neurological spinal condition that has made it impossible for her to work.

Adarsha can often be seen alongside his father working in the fields and for a time it looked like financial problems would force him to leave school and work full time to support his family. So his mother was extremely happy when Shiva Charity stepped in and arranged sponsorship so that Adarsha could continue his studies. Not that he has an easy commute – his 30 minute walk to school each morning involves fording a river and scrabbling up a landslide.
