The Ginette Harrison Memorial Fund
Medical practitioner Ginette Harrison (1958-1999) was one of the world's most accomplished high altitude climbers. Her many achievements included the successful ascents of Mt Everest, Mt Logan, Cho Oyu and Ama Dablam. She was also the first woman to reach the summit of Kangchenjunga.
In memory of her energetic life, unassuming modesty, and great achievements, her friends have set up a fund in order to promote education in Nepal, through SHIVA charity.
The Memorial Fund's first project (2001) is to support a poor school in Banepa, near Kathmandu. We hope you will join us in honouring Ginette's memory by supporting this worthwhile cause.
